SS1 Geography Excursion to FUTA 2018

SS1 Geography students on Thursday 1st November 2018, embarked on an excursion to FUTA Meteorological Station to deepen their theoretical knowledge.

They observed various instruments for measuring weather elements and how the various data are collected. Some of the instruments studied are rain gauge for measuring amount of rainfall, Six Thermometer for atmospheric temperature, sun dial for sunshine duration, wind vane for wind direction, anemometer for wind speed, hydrometer for humidity etc. En route to the excursion site, they examined physical and cultural features of rocks and terrains to enhance their learning. It was indeed a time well invested.
