PRESTON INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL HOLDS 2026 DUKE OF EDINBURGH’S INTERNATIONAL AWARD CEREMONY

Preston International School proudly held its 2026 International Award for Young People Nigeria - Award Ceremony on 9th May, 2026, celebrating the participation and achievements of 92 participants who worked diligently over the past few months to complete the various sections of the Award.
The event marked another significant milestone in Preston’s commitment to raising well-rounded students through leadership, service, skill development, physical recreation, and character building. At the ceremony, 65 Bronze participants and 27 Silver participants were presented with their certificates and badges as they were officially inducted into the global family of the Duke of Edinburgh International Award.
The occasion was graced by the presence of the Proprietor of Preston International School, Dr. Toyin Ajayi; the Principal, Mr. Jegede Felix; the Award Coordinator and Vice Principal Academics, Mr. Obajemihi Splendor; members of staff; and parents of the participants, who all came out to celebrate the achievements of the students.
The ceremony also had the honour of hosting the Lagos Award Office representative, Mr. Babatunde Joshua, who congratulated the participants on successfully completing their respective levels of the Award. He encouraged them not to rest on their achievements, but to remain determined and continue towards completing the higher levels of the Award. He also guided the participants during the presentation of their certificates and badges.

Through the International Award for Young People Nigeria, students are exposed to life-transforming experiences that challenge them to discover their strengths, step out of their comfort zones, and become responsible leaders capable of making positive impacts in society.
The ceremony featured inspiring testimonials from participants who shared their experiences and personal growth throughout the Award journey. Parents and guests were delighted to witness the transformation and confidence displayed by the students as they reflected on the skills, values, and lessons they had gained during the programme.
Indeed, the 2026 Award Ceremony was not just a celebration of certificates and badges, but a celebration of growth, perseverance, service, leadership, and excellence.
