Preston
International School - A World of Standards
- Victor Sodje
Without standards,
decay is inevitable. Triggered by the above saying, Preston International
School stands out as a world of standard.
Here at Preston, we have a lot of standards; some of these are:
“Hands-off-the-wall”, No running along corridors, Keep to your left while
walking along the corridors, Grass on the lawn should not be higher than 1
inch tall, Don’t by-pass any dropped litter, Don’t drop litter, Don’t loiter
around, Decorations should be double mounted, there should be a border around
every display board, Notices, Posters etc. should be pinned at the four (4)
corners, there should be no management of spoilt materials e.g. broken chairs,
etc.
These standards were set by our loving and dear proprietor Mr. Toyin Ajayi who
set them to develop the school and make the school very civilized. These
standards are better explained below:
“Hands-off-the-walls”- This standard, though is difficult to maintain, was set
to make the walls cleaner and to make the walls look nice.
No running along corridors- This standard was set to make the school less
rowdy and also to make sure that there are no accidents.
Keep to your left while walking along corridors- This is to make sure that we
don’t collide against ourselves.
Grass on the lawn should not be more than 1 inch tall- This was set because he
(the proprietor) wants us to be of British standard and in England the
standard height of the lawn in any garden is 1inch.
The ones mentioned above and many other standards I can not mention now have
placed the school on the path of glory. Prestonians are ladies and gentlemen
of standards, we do not do things or behave anyhow. We have a dream, purpose
and standard.
